Information about Achievements & how it came to be

It's nice to have a goal to go for. I liked how achievement systems drive people to actively participate in a game, and so I decided to implement such a system in WNL. It's nice to earn achievements, 'medals' for your hard work and the good things you do - for being an active participant of WNL, and help make WNL what it is. I appreciate everyone who puts in effort, because I believe a play-by-post game is only as good and active as its members.

These achievements have been divided up into several categories, and each achievement awards an icon you can put in your postlog (or anywhere else you'd like to store them). You can only 'officially' put the icons in your postlog after requesting; read below to see how it works.

Things you've done in WNL1 may be included, but these are limited to the packs and daemons categories, as well as the litter achievement, Staff and Board Helper achievements and the MotM achievement. You do have to request them again to be able to use them however.

Achievements go per person, not per character; so you're allowed to store all achievements, of all your characters, in one char's postlog. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the 'question thread'.

Important: Threads are only considered 'completed' if they had a logical ending or fading out in them. Unfinished threads don't count!

How to request an achievement

Post in the applying topic, mentioning the achievement category, name, and link(s) to proof (if required for that achievement). It's that easy! An administrator will reply here and hand you the code for the icon.

Activity

- Active writer: Make at least 1 IC post every day for a week long.
Proof: Link thread(s) you've been in for the past week. You must have at least 1 post a day made; not total, but every day.

- Driven writer: Make at least 1 IC post every day for three weeks long.
Proof: Link threads you've been in for the past three weeks. You must have at least 1 post a day made; not total, but every day.

- Crazy writer: Make at least 1 IC post every day for a month long.
Proof: Link threads you've been in for the past month. You must have at least 1 post a day made; not total, but every day.

- Speedy writer: Make at least 5 IC post every day for a week long.
Proof: Link threads you've been in for the past weeks. You must have at least 5 posts a day made; not total, but every day.

- Fast thread award: Finish a thread with someone within a week. The thread must include at least 10 posts of 2 or more characters.
Proof: Link the thread.

- Superduperliciously quick thread award: Finish a thread with someone within a day. The thread must include at least 10 posts of 2 or more characters.
Proof: Link the thread.

- Thread-a-licious: Complete 30 IC threads. Joining threads do not count.
Proof: Link your postlog. (if you're a leader, make sure to put your joining threads away from the rest so it's easier to count!)

- A month's work: Write more than 100 IC posts in 1 month's time.
Proof: You have to sign up beforehand for this achievement: Send the account a PM a day before the 1st of the month and write down your current post-count in there. You'll be informed whether or not you got the achievement the first day of the next month.

-Crazy inspiration: Write a post containing 1000 IC words or more.
Proof: Link the thread and mention what post it is.

- Bronze post medal: 100 IC posts
Proof: Just request. If you wish to accumulate different characters' counts, link their profiles.

- Silver post medal: 500 IC posts

- Gold post medal: 1000 IC posts
Proof: Just request. If you wish to accumulate different characters' counts, link their profiles.

- I love my character: 1000 IC posts on one character

Fun Threading

- Strange vibes: Have two threads where your character uses only telepathy to communicate, no speaking. (note that a wolf normally only uses telepathy with wolves they are very familiar and trusty with, not just randomly, and especially not just for an achievement, so think well about IC things!!)

- Of snow and snowmen: Have three or more threads where your wolf participates in any winter activity / anything that has to do with snow / ice (excluding glaciers).

- To all the squirrels I've loved before: Have any three threads where you NPC non-wolf creatures. This includes hunts.

- Addicted to you: Have five different threads with the same character.

- Four seasons: Have a spring-themed, summer-themed, autumn-themed and winter-themed thread on the same character throughout a year.

- Touring the western territories: Have threads in all territories in the 'western territories'.
Proof: Link the threads.

- Visited the eastern territories: Have threads in all territories in the 'eastern territories'.

Pack

- I risked my life facing Gennae and all I got was this lousy rank: Have been a member of Arcane Shroud in the past.

- I followed home an angel, then she refused to fall in love with me: Have been a member of Mystic Shadow Plains in the past.
Proof: Just request.

- I thought I joined a pack until I saw the basement: Have been a member of Lucid Plateau in the past.
Proof: Just request.

- I miss Keese so much *sobcry*: Have been a member of Dawning Hollow in the past.
Proof: Just request.

- Alone and damn proud of it: Play a lone wolf for four months consecutively.
Proof: When requesting, send a link of your joining thread (if you don't keep a postlog, the joining posts go to the 'IC joining archives' at the bottom of the board) and a link of a post made four months later.

Extra

- Working day and night: Have five threads where your character shows / uses its Moonphase-given talents.

- Love is in the air: Have a mate.
Proof: Just request it; wolf must have a mate at the time it's requested (but you can keep it if they seperate).

- The result of a fiery night: Have a litter - stillborn litters count, so long as it conception through to birth was roleplayed out at WNL.

- They called for me: Attend a pack meeting.
Proof: Link the pack meeting thread when requesting.

- There we go a'hunting: Attend a pack hunt.
Proof: Link the pack hunt thread when requesting.

- Leader of the pack: Be a pack's Alpha / first leader for at least one month.
Proof: Just request.

- Alpha's right paw: Be a pack's leader or council for at least one month.
Proof: Just request.

Out of Character

- Running the game: Have been an administrator / staff member for at least a month.
Proof: Just request.

- Cutting the staff some slack: Have been a junior staff member for at least a month. (not currently available)
Proof: Just request.

- Happy board contribution medal 1, 2, 3: Contribute something noteworthy to the board, i.e. layout, suggestions, etc.
Proof: Just request. (you can get up to 3 medals from this for every contribution)

- Contest medal 1, 2, 3: Contribute in a contest. (you don't have to win, just participate!)

- Contest winner: Win a contest.
Proof: Just request.

- Chat Like Crazy!: Have started 15 or more topics in the general chat.
Proof: When requesting, link topics.

- The helpful kind: Have made 25 or more drawings / avatars / tables / etc. for other members of the board.
Proof: When requesting, link topics.

- The creative kind: Have posted 40 drawings / avatars / other creative things in Aurora Artisticealis.
Proof: When requesting, link topic(s).

- Show your pride!: Contribute at least 4 pictures / icons / banners / anything showing general WNL-pride or pack-pride.

- MotM Award: Have been Member of the Month.

Storage Table

If you're looking for a place to store all your achievements, feel free to use this table. Between the "<td></td>" is where you should store your achievements, underneath the right category. You can just copy and paste the HTML-code (the one without the 'dohtml' tag) inbetween the <td> and </td> tags where the text "Enter achievement images here." is now, behind one another. You can just remove the "Enter achievement images here." text.
