Ack, I have no muse or time ( I have so little as it is! ) left for Eva, and I think it's a bit senseless to keep a character that I can put no more emotion into. Boo for short crappy death posts!
ic Death would claim her as well. Eva dangled from the high iceberg, knowing that nothing could stop the fate that would take her life. She did not scream, she did not yell. All she did was hang there. Blood rushed out of the gash that had put her in the death situation. Eva had been scaling the iceberg, thinking nothing of the ice that had made her slip, cut her leg open. Eva looked down to the wound, feeling nauseous at the sight of the muscle. The pain in her leg was unbearable, and her paws were slipping. Eva began her final good byes, even though no one could hear them. Except for Epi, the red squirrle who had been her best friend. Eva could see a tear running down his little cheek, and his voice was instantly in her mind. Eva, I'm falling with you. Eva smiled, a horrible smile at the boy.
She thought back to him a few simple words. No, just because I'm going to leave this world, doesn't mean that you have to, too. Eva's throat closed, and her eyes got hot, tears spilling over her chocolate brown eyes. There's nothing left here for me if you're not here. You're my best friend. Eva nodded slightly, I know Epi, and you're my best friend as well...but I don't want you to die with me. I want you to have a life, do you promise me? She knew that Epi was hesitating. Promise me? He nodded his little head, and Eva spoke aloud. "Azalea, I'm sorry that I'm leaving like this. I love you, and you're the greatest big sister a girl could ever have."
Eva turned her attention on Epi, and stared at him, tears rushing down both of their faces. "And Epi, you're the bestest best friend anyone could ever have. And I'll miss you so much." Epi hugged her paw, before releasing. Eva spoke one more word before her words were gone. "Promise me." And that was it. Eva let her paws graze the ice, not struggling at all, before the girl let her white paws fall, her body plummeting towards the earth.
Epi watched as his best friend fell to her death, hoping it wouldn't be painful. Peaceful, quiet, easy. He couldn't do it. I'm sorry, Ev...but I can't keep my promise. I love you as my best friend. And he jumped after Eva.
