Icicle bounded and weaved through the bits of scattered junk, and finally darted towards two mountains that marked the edge of the territory. After a few more minutes of run, she slowed and faced him. "Where's Shimmer?", she asked him, her big blue eyes searching his own. He felt his stomach knot up. He couldn't answer her, and a duplicated worry look of her own was all the answer he could muster for her. He turned now to look at the dump from a safe distance, scanning for Shimmer. His mind whirled, and he got ready to give Icicle instructions to go back home and wait for them there. A light blue blur loped around a corner and dashed up the hill to join them. The explosive bang noises faded now. "That is the reason the dump is no feild trip. Both of you are safe, that's all that matters. And Icicle found what she needed....". He only half listened to her words, feeling infuriated, especially with the extra course of adrenaline running through his veins. "No field trip? No field trip!", he cut her off, his temper exploding. "I told you that from the beginning! I gave you DIRECT orders, and you agreed! And then you disobey, abandon us, abandon Icicle, and go running around on your own, and put us all in danger! ", he turned now to look at his best friend. "And Icicle! You put her in the most danger of all! What kind of wolf are you?! This isn't some kind of game! You may have escaped with your life, but you certainly won't be escaping with out friendships or trust!", he roared out at Shimmer, infuriated. He motioned to Icicle in a "Comon, let's go" fashion with his body language. He didn't care much what Shimmer had to say. A wolf who would put a puppy in danger was no friend of his. Half of him was hurt because she had disobeyed his leadership, and the other half angry because of the trouble it had caused them, and that all of them might not have made it out alive. He didn't care so much if he had gotten hurt, but if Icicle had even gotten a splinter, he would have felt like weeping.

Shimmer had made it. Icicle grinned at her. She was glad they had all made it out with no inguries. It was a miracle. Arion was with Shimmer, and Azure with Icicle. Everyone was fine. Icicle looked at Shimmer and Xexe. She was about to speak, but Xexe exploded at Shimmer. Icicle looked at Xexe and Shimmer. Shimmer seemed quiet as Xexe roared at her about abandoning them, putting us in danger, and all of that stuff. Icicle didn't know what to say or do except for sit there. Oh, the horror!!! "Stop it!!!! It is no use shouting at each other. What happened happened, there's no changing that. Just be glad we're all safe. Curiousity always gets the better of us doesn't it!?!?!?" Xexe was using body language to say, "Let's go," but Icicle waited for Shimmer's response. She wasn't sure if Xexe would reply to her nicely, but Shimmer seemed like a pretty calm wolf. And vaugley familliar. "Just, don't fight, it won't do us any good..."

They were all safe. Safety first. She smiled at Icicle, but Xexe shouted at her. "Excuse me??!! Is this how you talk to all the wolves who happen to be at least two years OLDER than you??!! Gaurding doesn't just mean standing still. You PROTECT wolves. You investigate if somethinf might be dangerous. I was making sure it would be safe. I didn't abandon Icicle!!!! I was protecting her be looking to see if it was SAFE!!!!!!!!" Shimmer was so tempted to hurt Xexe, but for Icicle's sake, she stopped herself. This Xexe didn't show respect for his elders. She was about to start speaking when Icicle began to shout. Shimmer was surprised at her words. She thought maybe she could make a good peace maker. Shimmer gave a death stare to Xexe before looking down at Icicle. "You're right Icicle. Fighting WON'T do us any good, will it, Xexe?." Easy Shimmer...

You investigate if somethinf might be dangerous. I was making sure it would be safe. I didn't abandon Icicle!!!! I was protecting her be looking to see if it was SAFE!!!!!!!!", she defended herself. He was unsatisfied with the reply. She had wandered off and disobeyed the plan she herself had agreed to. "And look were it got us.", he butted in. It was Icicle's voice that replied now, and not Shimmers. She pleaded with them to stop fighting. Shimmer seemed pacified, and agreed. "You're right Icicle. Fighting WON'T do us any good, will it, Xexe?", she agreed, looking at him now. He wanted to snarl at her patronizing. He wanted to threaten her. He wanted to tell her that she acted rashly, unthinking, like a puppy would, not an adult. But he said none of those things. After a pause, he finally said in a calm voice "Don't you dare put Icicle in danger again." He picked up Icicle now by the scruff of the neck like a parent would, and placed her gently on his back, turning to go home. "That's enough adventure for today, my little one. Let's go home and rest.", he cooed to her. He had no goodbye for the adult female who he now disliked. He pondered what he would say when Icicle might next ask to go play with Shimmer. If he told her 'no', she would likely go and play anyways... and with Shimmer, it might be the last playing she might ever do.
